Day 1
Phnom Penh arrival
Arrival at Phnom Penh airport. Welcome by our local guide and transfer to hotel. Free time for your first discovery in the capital of Cambodia. Overnight in Phnom Penh.
Day 2
Visit Phnom Penh
Breakfast at the hotel.You start by visiting the National Museum which contains the finest collection of Khmers culptures, the Royal Palace, the Silver Pagoda which is most sacred in Cambodia and Wat Phnom Pagoda which is perched on the only wooded terrain of the top of 27m where you can make prayer for good things city.Then, Toul Sleng Museum visits and Charniers Choeung Ek, the largest center of detention and torture in the country. Walk in the Russian market where you can buy antiques, souvenirs ...Overnight in PhnomPenh.
Day 3
Phnom Penh – Udong et Kampong Chhnang
Udong was the ancient capital of the country, Phnom Penh before it succeeds. On this site we will visitthe ancient stupa and pagoda located on the top of the hill. We continue our exploration in Kampong Chhnang - one of the five provinces bordering the Tonle Sap, the largest lake in Cambodia. We will be pleased to see the floating villages, bird watching and visit thePrahok market (market glue fish).
Day 4
Phnom Penh - Siem Reap by road
Transfer: 250km, 5-6 hours
After breakfast, transfer to KampongThom by overland via the National Road #6. It takes approximately 4 hours drive through beautiful Cambodians sceneries. You will then visit the Sambo Prey Kuk complex, the ancient capital of Chenla, built in the seventh century. Resuming the road to Siem Reap and arrival in the evening. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 5
Siem Reap - Angkor Wat - Angkor Thom
Departure in the morning for the visit of the wonderful temple of Angkor Wat, inscribed on the world heritage of humanity by UNESCO. With its soaring towers and its bas-reliefs unique, it is one of the monuments the most extraordinary ever conceived by the human mind, erected in the 12th century in honor of Vishnu. Compared to all the other temples, Angkor Wat is the most famous and the most majestic.
After lunch in town, visit of Angkor Thom starting by the terrace of the Leper King, platform which presents several admirable carved figures of Apsaras emerging out. Your tour continues along the terrace of the Elephants who hosted the pomp of the royal hearings and public ceremonies. Continuation to the south portal with the famous Bayon Temple, the enigmatic and enchanting temple composed of 54 gigantic towers decorated by 216 faces of Avalokiteshvara (Buddha of compassion). On the return path, you will also visit the With Ta Prohm, temple invaded by the jungle and discovered in 1860 by the French explorer Henri Mouhout. Return to your hotel. Free time.
Day 6
Siem Reap - Banteay Srei - PreahKhan - Meak Péan
Transfer: 49km, 1 hour
After breakfast at the hotel, departure for the excursion to Kbal Spean (the river of thousand lingams) 49 km to the north of Angkor. It is of carrres of stone which were used to bless the waters before they arrive at the royal city. The peaceful environment of the place allows you a beautiful promenade
Continuation of visits with the mythical temple of Banteay Srei whose name means: "The citadel of women". This gem of pink sandstone contains remarkable lintels carved in incredible state of conservation.
In the late afternoon, on the way back to Siem Reap, visit the romantic temple Bantey Samre, nicknamed "Angkor Wat thumbnail", of the ancient city of Preah Khan (city of the royal fortune victorious) and Neak Pean, a surprising site built in the 12th century.Return to Siem Reap, overnight in the hotel.
Day 7
Siem Reap - Excursion to the natural park of Prek Toal
You will depart to the Tonle Sap lake to the discovery of the preserved and immaculate biosphere of Prek Toal, the natural habitat of several species of endemic birds, most of which are in the process of disappearing. The immense lake is one of the most prolific in the world and thousands of species live in the flooded forests of the Tonle Sap. Prek Toal is located on the north-eastern shore of the lake, approximately one hour by boat from the pier located at the foot of Phnom Krom.
The park is a vast area of natural flooded forests and shelter tens of thousands of birds which breed in the dry season. Prek Toal is one of the places the more taken to the observation of rare birds in south-east Asia; there you'll see storks, adjutants, pelicans or ibis.
An excursion to Prek Toal need a departure to the auroras toward 5h30 of the morning. Therefore, you will be led by boat from Phnom Krom to Prek Toal, and a breakfast you will be proposed during the navigation.
After the observation of birds and a local lunch, you will discover the life of one of the floating villages surrounding, learn their fishing techniques and their art of weaving the water hyacinth. The return to Siem Reap will be in the late afternoon.Overnight at hotel in Siem Reap
Day 8
Siem Reap - end of the circuit
The morning is reserved to a boat trip on the Tonle Sap, the largest lake in Southeast Asia (the level of the water is high between July and November) and the source of life of thousands of fishermen. The tour will allow you to admire the beauty of the lake and discover the villages of fishermen.
Continuation with the visit of the workshops of Chantiers-Ecoles "Artisans of Angkor" which form the Cambodians in the ancient art of stone sculpture, engraving on wood and lacquer polychrome. Return to your hotel or transfer to the airport for departure.
