When to go?

In Laos, the climate is not the same from north to south. The climate in the North is nice almost all year because this region is less affected by monsoons and heat.

The south of the country is experiencing a fairly long rainy season from May to October. If they make some roads impassable, the rains have the merit of giving the landscape all their beauty. Should not be avoided this season, unless you plan a trek or adventure tour in jungle. Warning against by the months of April and May during which it is very hot in the south.

To summarize: the period from November to March is suitable for any type of circuit and across the country. It is the dry season, with mild temperatures. The period of April-May is not ideal for visiting the South, given the heat, but not a big drawback to visit the North. The period from June to October is not good for treks in the South, but interesting to discovery tours, including the 4000 islands.
