Day 1
Ha Noi arrival
Transfert airport – hotel: 30km – 45 minutes
Arrival at Hanoi airport by your morning flight. Welcome by your guide and transfer to the hotel in the center of the city. Installation at the hotel and free time to relax until 3:00 p.m.
The end of the afternoon is spent for a short tour of the Vietnamese capital by tramway. You will discover a city of poetry, a market town, a city that will amaze you with the lives of its inhabitants, a city toggling between tradition and modernity.
Return to your hotel after a stop at Hoan Kiem Lake, in the heart of Hanoi. Visit Ngoc Son temple located on the shores of the lake.
In the evening, you will enjoy a puppet show on the water, folk art of the peoples in the Red River Delta. Overnight at hotel
Day 2
Ha Noi – Ha Long bay
Transfer: (200 km – 4.5 hours)
Arival early in the morning. You will have the day use room for shower and breakfast
After breakfast, transfer by road to Halong Bay, the eighth wonder of the world. This journey give you a chance to see the rice fields and the countryside of the Red River Delta.
On arrival around noon, check in a beautiful wooden junk for a cruise enchanting 2 days / 1 night in Halong Bay.
During this cruise, you can explore this vast chaos of karst mountains, caves, lagoons with all these ghostly shapes that can be seen from far away. It is so nice to feel completely lost and discovering every second new forms of increasingly tormented rocks. In addition, the play of light, clouds and mist creates unexpected atmospheres. It is the same life on the bay with all its fishing boats, whole families who either live in floating houses or aboard simple craft.
In late afternoon, the ship dropped anchor for the night in the bay. It is then possible for you to swim in the emerald sea or kayaking.
The lunch and dinner are served on the junk menu with excellent seafood. Overnight on board the junk in private cabin.
Day 3
Ha Long bay – Ha Noi
Transfer: (200 km – 4.5 hours)
Morning in the bay, this is a special time for meditation and take a morning bath.
The buffet breakfast is served while the junk starts up slowly towards the pier. The return cruise allows you to discover other parts of the bay, including the Heavenly Palace Cave or the Cave of Surprise.
Landing at 11:30 and taken the road towards Hanoi. Direct transfer to the airport. On the road, visiting a traditional pottery village. This village, which stays away from mass tourism, still keeps the shapes of the oldest villages of the Red River Delta. Overnight in hotel
Day 4
Ha Noi visit – night train to Lao Cai
Night train: 8 hours
Start your day of exploring Hanoi with a walk in the gardens of the former Palace of the Governor of Indochina, now become the Presidential Palace. Discover the One Pillar Pagoda on stilts of Ho Chi Minh, the founder of modern Vietnam, and the inside of his Mausoleum (except Monday and Friday when visiting the interior is impossible).
You can also visit the pagoda Tran Quoc at the edge of the large Lake (West Lake), and the Museum of Ethnography, which offers a way of life, customs and habits of the 54 ethnic minorities populating Vietnam.
In the afternoon, visit the Temple of Literature, the first national university in the original architecture built in the eleventh century and now dedicated to the worship of Confucius and the Scholars. This Temple has become the symbol of Hanoi and the Vietnamese Culture.
Transfer in the afternoon to railway stattion to take the night train to Lao Cai. Overnight in the soft bed cabin.
Day 5
Lao Cai – Sa Pa – Sin Chai – Y Linh Ho – Sa Pa
Walking: 4 – 5 hours
Upon arrival in Lao Cai. You will be met by local guide and driver then transferred to a local restaurant in Sa Pa for breakfast. Then start our driver to Sapa and transferred downhill to Sin Chai village of Black Hmong minority, which locates right at the foot of Hoang Lien mountain range. Here you start heading up the mountain. Once you get to the top, you will trek on a small trail with spectacular view and then gradually descend to Cat Cat village, where you will have lunch nearby a waterfall. In the after noon, you take a trail sneaking through mountain. You also will enjoy spectacular scenery while walking along a narrow river you eventually arrive in Y Linh Ho village of Black Hmong minority, where you can take a rest in a nice spot nearby the beautiful river. Back to Sa Pa in the afternon. Overnight in hotel.
Day 6
Sa Pa – Lao Chai – Ta Van - Homestay
Walking: 4 – 5 hours
Breakfast in hotel then the driver will take you to Muong Hoa valley, the largest one in the area. You will pass through Lao Chai village of Black Hmong minority and then Tavan village of Giay minority by following a very popular trekking route. You spend the night in a traditional house of Giay minority. You will be able to take a walk to enjoy the valley view as well as swim in the river nearby. Overnight at home stay
Day 7
Scenic valley Sapa – Pa So
100 km - 3hours drive.
After breakfast, we leave the host and road to LaiChau, we enter the capital of black and red Dzaos Mongs still wear their traditional dress. Night local in Pa So.
Day 8
Pa So – Dien Bien Phu
6 hour drive. 170 km.
Transfer to Dien Bien Phu, scene of the battle of 1954.O n the road, we passed several ethnicities. Each has its own characteristics. Mong and Red Zao Here inhabit the hills, while black Thais and Lus inhabit thev alleys. Women, guaranteeing traditions, are dressed in out standing out fits. Somecover their teeth black lacquer, other feature complicated chignons interwoven silver ornaments, the reasons for their embroidered skirts indicate their geographical origin. Arrival at Dien BienPhu in the afternoon and night at the hotel.
Day 9
Dien BienPhu - Tay Trang - MuongKhoa
90 km of road, 3 hours drive
After breakfast, visit the historical sites of Dien BienPhu: military museum, PCGono. Short bus ride toTayTrang, reopened to foreign tourists between Laos and Vietnam border crossing. Welcome by our local Laos guide, then transfer by car to MuongKhoa. Stops along the way to visit villages. Muong Khoa, whose dominant populationis Vietnamese, is the major tradecenter in the region. Overnight at hotel.
Note: the road from Tay Trang to Muang Khoa is not good. To achieve this, depending on the season, we use a local bus, sometimes a truck or a boat.
Day 10
Muoang Khoa – Muang Ngoi
Down the Nam Ou River to Muang Ngoy. Although it is called Muang (city), Ngoy is a small village, which was buried in the magnificent and spectacular scenery of the valley of the Nam Ou. Landing to visit local villages on both sides of the river.Local lunch.
After about5 hours by boaton the river,you will come toMuangNgoi, a small village which has a road however no vehicles! Free time forrest or leisure.
Dinner and overnight at local house or guesthouse.
Day 11
Muang Ngoi – Nong Khiew – Luang Prabang
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the pierfor aboat ride on the Nam Ou river, the most important tributary river Mekong. On the way, you will visit the sacred Pak Ou cavesin whichare deposited the Buddhas of sizes and styles of traditional Luang Prabang. Lunch during the cruise.
Visit Tham Ting caves sanctuaries andThamPoum, housing thousands of Buddha offering saccumulated over the centuries. Stop at the village of Ban Xang Hai, specializing in the distillation of rice wine.
Arrival in LuangPrabang in the late afternoon and well deserved rest at your hotel. Overnight in Luang Prabang.
Day 12
Luang Prabang visit
From the first light of day ( between 6:00 and 7:00 am) you will have the opportunity to observe the monks reras, a Buddhist ritual millennium many monks dressed in saffron robes silently through the old town to beg for food as had done the Buddha: this is the scene of life that offers visitors the most beautiful travel photos. Back to the hotel for breakfast.
Discover the fresh food market Phousi, true mosaic of colors and scents, ethnological museum (closed on Monday) founded in 2006 whose purpose is to promote understanding of different lifestyles and traditions of the fabulous ethnic mosaic form the Lao people. If time permits, explore the UNESCO side will continue during this late morning. Lunch at local restaurant.
The afternoon exploration of the most beautiful temples in the city. We will go to Xieng Thong Temple, built in 1560, certainly the most beautiful and richest temple in the city. Transition to Wat Aham and Wat Visoun, which are the oldest temples in Luang Prabang. If time permits, visit other temples historic area filled some one of the finest architectural jewels of the country. Return to the hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 13
Luang Phrabang – Kuang Xi – departure
The afternoon is spent for a trip to the waterfalls of Tad Kwang Si, 30 km south of Luang Brabang by a good road that passes through villages H'mongs. The waterfall which forms many pools is a particularly nice place for nature lovers.
