Day 1
Pakse - Tad Lo Resort
Pick up at your hotel and departure for a day excursion to the Bolaven Plateau. This plateau, which rises from Pakse, is between 600 and 1500 meters. An area of red soil, dotted with plantations of coffee, tea, rubber and banana trees.
Stops along the way to visit a village blacksmith, a village where local manufacture bamboo baskets, a tea plantation where we discover the process of manufacturing tea. Before Pakxong visit the drop Tal Fane, one of the most impressive South Laos.
Lunch at Café Sisouk located in a coffee plantation. Opportunity for the traveler to discover "the life of the coffee plant to cup"
Continuation of the discovery of the Bolaven Plateau with visits to villages and Kôkphoung Tai - Pong, populous ethnic Ta Oi and K -Lac with their houses on stilts.
Arriving late in the day falls Tad Lo. Installation in the resort of the same name, with separate bungalows perfectly integrated in an endless greenery.Overnight in Tad Lo resort.
Day 2
Tad Lo - Pakse - Wat Phou - Don DeangIsland
After breakfast, depart for an elephant ride through the ethnic minority villages around Tad Lo resort. Then transfer by car to Pakse for lunch.
The afternoon is spent visiting the famous site of Vat Phou, Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 2001. The oldest temple cities of Angkor that exudes a magical atmosphere. Visit the site and its museum.
By late afternoon, embark on a small boat. Crossing the Mekong to join Don Daeng, a small island in the middle of the river, opposite the mountain Phou Bassak. Would recommend to travelers who like quiet, peaceful scenery, rest and cycling. Overnight at hotel or homestay.
Day 3
Ile Don Deang - Phou Asa - Don Khong Island
Early morning bike ride around the island. The way that we can go quietly two hours through rice fields, small woods and villages of Lao Loum.
After lunch at a local, through the left arm of the Mekong to the road towards the extreme south Laos, known as the region of 4,000 islands. For about 2 hours, you will cross a large basin formed by the Mekong with rice paddies and villages inhabited by Lao Loum.
On the way, stop at the village of Kiet Ngong, about 40 km south of Pakse. Trek on elephant back to climb Phou Asa, a mountain overlooking the Mekong River to the west and the Xe Pian Natural Park in the east.
By late afternoon, arrived on the island Don Khong, the largest island in the Mekong : the road that goes around the island is about 30 km It has two separated by a chain of mountain plains. The island consists of 19 villages, 15 pagodas, one central market, large rice fields, the illuminated forest, fields palm sugar.
Installation in a hotel in the Mekong River. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 4
Don Khong Island - Cruise - Don Khone Island
After breakfast, drive around to explore the island and down. Visit local market and some pagodas on the island. Return to hotel for lunch.
In early afternoon, embark on a small boat for an amazing cruise on the largest crossing the Mekong River to reach another island , the most beautiful in the region, named Don Khone. Arrived on this island covered with coconut palms at the end of one hour and a half down the Mekong River.
Installation in a hotel at the water's edge. Free time.Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 5
Don Khone Island - Waterfalls
Boat trip to the largest waterfall in Asia! Khone Falls Phapeng & Li Phi were the main obstacles that have thwarted the French in their efforts to open up the Mekong River to navigation. Approximately 50-100 Irrawaddy Dolphins (freshwater) live in this area. Visit the small railway and colonial bridge built by the French to be able to tour the waterfalls. Then back to the island to spend the afternoon to explore or relax.
Day 6
Don Khone Island - Pakse Departure
Back to Pakse (30 minute boat ride and a 2 hour drive). Transfer to the airport for departure flight.
